Why I'm Running
I'm running for Rock Valley College Board of Trustees because I'm deeply passionate about the role education plays in the success of our region.
My Story
It was at Rock Valley College that my passion for lifelong learning took root. After graduating from there in 2006, I transferred to Illinois State University, where I earned two degrees in English in hopes of teaching writing at the college level. Since that time, I have worked at all levels of higher ed-- from staff to faculty to administrator-- but it was the foundation RVC built for me on both personal and professional levels that I return to again and again today.
If elected to the RVC Board of Trustees, I would be the only Trustee with a background in education, and who is currently working in higher ed. I see this perspective as crucial in these complex times.
